Warfarin 5mg tablet

Overview

Warfarin 5 mg is an oral anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors, thereby reducing the blood’s ability to form clots.

It is commonly prescribed for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), atrial fibrillation, and prevention of stroke in patients at risk of thromboembolic events.

✅ Indication:

Prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Prevention and treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE)

Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in atrial fibrillation

Prevention of clot formation after certain surgeries (e.g., heart valve replacement)

⚠️ Note:

Requires regular INR monitoring to maintain therapeutic range

Dose adjustments are made based on individual response and risk factors
